AUGUST went into the studio and recorded our first CD
"demo"
in December of 2007. The 7-song set was recorded at Brick Audio Studios in Campton Township/Wasco,
IL.
Sound engineer, Bill Beith, worked with the band to provide everyone with a taste of AUGUST's music.
These
recording were done "live" in the studio, meaning that each track was performed by the entire band as you hear it,
not in sections and then layered together as you would find in the traditional recording process. With the exception
of vocals and solos, there were no "overdubs".
Studio size limitations and the recording process in general created the need for vocals and solos to be added
later. All songs were recorded in three takes or less.
The
reason for this type of recording was that AUGUST wanted an honest, raw recording without the wonders and "tricks"
of the recording studio.
