"AUGUST" NEWS

Dick Biondi, radio legend, WLS-FM radio DJ and member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Radio Hall of Fame, declared this month the month of AUGUST!  At the Border's Oakbrook store, Dick introduced the band for the CD Release Party for the first WLS True Oldies Collection Volume I.  After AUGUST played for about 30 minutes, Biondi returned to the stage and grabbed the mike, declaring that "Everyday is an AUGUST day for the next 31 days".   What an honor!!  At the event along with Biondi were WLS-FM personalities Greg Brown, Danny Lake, Maura Myles along with Ronnie Rice of the New Colony Six and Larry Millas of the Ides of March.

August 27th is the official release date of Second Time Around, the new CD by AUGUST.  35 years in the making, we are more than excited to be releasing this disc.  It was recorded at World Stage International Studios and had Larry Millas at the mixing console.  In addition to being a founding member of Chicago's own, Ides of March, Larry is an award winning producer with credits that include the production of the Rocky III theme song, Eye of the Tiger, which was co-written by music legend, Jim Peterik.  The disc contains 10 songs and features a Peterik composition, co-written with the late Bill Chase, called Run Back to Mama, which was included on Chase's last LP, "Pure Music".  The band invited Peterik to join us on the song and Jim was so excited about the project that he not only plays acoustic guitar on the cut, but shares lead vocals with AUGUST's own, Ron Porter.

The CD cover/jacket design and photography was masterfully done by AUGUST guitarist, Dennis Morgan.  The disc will be available through the AUGUST website as well as Best Buy, Border's Books and Music, Amazon.com and iTunes, as well as many other well known download sites.

Prior to the CD release party Friday night, August 27, 2010, at America's Historic Roundhouse, formerly Payton's Roundhouse in Aurora, AUGUST, will return to WGN-TV for their Midday News that afternoon as the kickoff to the CD's release.  Particulars are being worked out as of this writing and information will be publicized when everything is finalized.

Added to the website is a new page, the AUGUST STORE, which opened Friday, August 27.   This page will allow purchasing of AUGUST's new CD as well as t-shirts and other as yet to be developed items.  All purchases will be processed by PayPal for security.
